Where the Samples Sleep (2013)
Lab Equiptment, Ceramics, Resin, Fabrics
This is an installation that plays with the feeling of comfort and discomfort by combinging the sterile environment of a research lab with the cozy textiles that make up a human being's bed. The patients are put in familar social situations. Influenced by personal research work, Dez's work transfoms the ambiguous patient sample into a person who could be sleeping in your guest room. The materials become visually under these circumstances, confusing hospital robes with comfortable sleepwear.
